Ricoh joins the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), the global alliance dedicated to corporate social responsibility (CSR) in global supply chains. This not-for-profit coalition¹ supports the rights and welfare of workers and communities involved in the global supply chain. Founded in 2004 by a group of leading electronics companies, the association now also includes multinationals from a wide range of sectors, from retail, automotive, and toys to ICT companies.
As a member of the RBA, Ricoh fully supports the vision - a global electronics industry that creates sustainable value for workers, the environment, and business - and the mission - members, suppliers, and stakeholders collaborate to improve labor and environmental conditions through leading standards and practices - of the alliance.
Tabobá Falero, Regional Director, SCM & Operations Center Head explains: "We are very proud to announce this partnership which reaffirms Ricoh's commitment to implementing the highest standards and policies of social responsibility and environmental care. Corporate sustainability in all areas is in our company's DNA and these guidelines are driven throughout the organization and include their application in any operation or interaction with our supply chain, customers, business partners, employees, and suppliers.
"Following our commitment to offering excellence in service to customers and distributors, Ricoh is committed to the expansion of our center in Uruguay. We are proud to have a location that will further strengthen our communication and efficiency of operations".
The RBA sets standards in its Code of Conduct to help ensure that, in supply chains, working environments are safe, workers are treated with respect and dignity, and companies take responsibility for the environmental impact of their product manufacturing processes. As a member of the alliance, Ricoh complies with the RBA Code of Conduct in its business activities, respects the common goals and spirit, and is committed to adopting and implementing the approach and tools endorsed by the alliance. In addition, Ricoh will share these initiatives with its key suppliers.
Ricoh is committed to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the aim of improving its contribution to society. Since the Ricoh Group Supplier Code of Conduct was established in January 2006, the company and its suppliers conduct their business in line with the goal of contributing to a better society and global environment, as well as sustainable business development.
