History and Context

Intec was founded in 1972 in the Dominican Republic with the aim of offering quality higher education and training, ethical professionals committed to society. It began with degrees in engineering and science, and over the years expanded its offerings to include business, law, humanities, and health. It established itself as an innovative university, with an emphasis on research, academic exchange, and social responsibility, and today stands out as one of the leading private institutions in the country.

Business Challenge

INTEC's main business challenge is to maintain educational quality and innovation while facing growing competition, transforming its digital model, ensuring financial sustainability, and responding to the needs of the labor market.

Ricoh Solution

Ricoh co-created an immersive learning experience with INTEC called the Advanced Immersive Learning Facility (Immersive Classrooms).

The co-creation between Ricoh and INTEC of this immersive virtual education experience made it possible to create an environment aligned with the demands of today's education, eliminating the barrier of distance and ensuring a seamless experience between on-site and remote students.

In strategic terms, the initiative represented a key competitive advantage for INTEC, differentiating the institutional proposal, reinforcing its positioning as an innovative entity, and increasing its appeal to new students.

The immersive classrooms transformed the traditional teaching dynamic into a more interactive and participatory space, encouraging collaboration, participation, and the use of innovative methodologies. Likewise, teachers acquired tools that made their work more efficient, dynamic, and integrated with digital resources, strengthening academic quality and enhancing the learning experience.
