Ricoh Company, Ltd. and its subsidiaries ("Ricoh") is pleased to inform its customers that two isolated overheating incidents have occurred in a multifunction colour printer series device manufactured prior to May 2014. Ricoh immediately took action and after conducting a thorough investigation, Ricoh determined that, in rare instances, certain internal electrical components are at risk of overheating and present a potential fire hazard.
While incidents have only occurred on rare occasions, Ricoh takes any potential safety issues seriously and has already updated the vast majority of potentially affected models in the field to minimise the risk of future incidents occurring. We are issuing this notice to ensure that we are able to update each device. If you have a current maintenance agreement for the affected model, the necessary fix should have already been completed on your device.
For customers using one of the remaining affected models that have not received the necessary fix and have not been contacted by a Ricoh representative, please contact a Ricoh representative immediately at the number below to schedule a repair appointment for your device. Implementation of the necessary security measures will be provided free of charge to all users of the affected model.
