Quiñones Printing. Case of success

By Luis Maldonado, Ricoh Puerto Rico

Context

Imprenta Quiñones, with 85 years of continuous service, stands out as the oldest printing press in the southern part of the island. His primary focus has been working with government and medical health institutions. With a business model that covers both companies (B2B) and individual consumers (B2C), this printing company is based on high-volume printing services.

The challenge

Given its extensive history, the printing press has faced significant challenges. These include adaptation to market changes, since for 85 years it depended exclusively on "Offset" technology, using Heidelberg machinery. The need to update your service model, problems with local parts and services due to your specialization in "Offset" printing, delays in internal and external processes, and lack of time for training or exploring alternatives in the digital printing market . , have been critical challenges.

Solution

To face these challenges, Ricoh implemented the "Offset 2 Digital" strategy, transforming the traditional offset printing model to the innovation of the digital printing model to expand the offer of applications that respond to current customer demands.
