Love your neighbor. Love your country. Love your work

The spirit of three loves
The greatest asset of a company, a country,, or the Earth itself is the imagination of its people. By thinking creatively and collaborating with each other, people can improve the way communities live and work together. When Kiyoshi Ichimura founded the Ricoh Group on February 6, 1936, he had a vision of how we should treat our customers, our planet, and ourselves as a team: love your neighbor. Love your country. Love your work.
He called this concept “The Spirit of Three Loves” and defined the heart of the “RICOH Way”, the structure of our company's mission, vision, and values that guide us to constantly improve and contribute to the well-being of our families, our customers, and our society.
From the beginning, this vision has led us to reinforce our commitment to the vanguard and innovation in the workplace. At the time, this meant creating the first office fax machine, which allowed people to work smarter and faster than ever before. Today, this means information mobility, which is the ability to capture, manage, access, and use the information you need, wherever and whenever you need it, securely driving business results. Mobility also means the evolution of digital workers, who will no longer work in the same place, but rather, through different tools and technologies, information will reach them so that they can carry out professional tasks from anywhere, at the same time improving their work-life balance.
For tomorrow, this vision is already taking shape in our laboratories and development areas for the explosion of technologies such as artificial intelligence, RPA, and chatbots, among other applications that will drive the next evolutionary step of digital workplaces.
On the other hand, promoting sustainability and caring for the environment is fundamental to continuing to promote our fundamental principles. Therefore, in 2017, we announced our support for the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Ricoh's president and CEO, Jake Yamashita, said of this initiative: “The SDGs are increasingly important. I believe that companies that do not contribute to these goals will be ignored by the market. Therefore, we must seek not only business profitability but also to contribute.” to solve social problems and challenges.
At that time, Ricoh established specific policies and actions that include reducing the environmental impact of its CO2 emissions by 87.5% by 2050, with an intermediate reduction target of 30% by 2020.
In this way, Ricoh has evolved far beyond traditional office solutions. We are more than just printers and photocopiers. Today, we empower digital workplaces using innovative technologies and services that enable companies to develop profitable and sustainable environments and help people love their work. Love your neighbor. I love your work. Integrity in our work, respect for people, and harmony with our planet: this is how Ricoh sees us and our businesses now and in the future.
