Ricoh Latin America: Print market embraces digital technology business opportunities

Get your customers involved in the business and the business involved with the customers: Ask customers for ideas about what they want, whether it's a new product, additional features, more reliable parts or more responsive service. Send the information directly to the departments that can do something about it and follow up. Where possible, change the design or streamline your processes to meet customer demands. Then publish the changes ... and ask for your next round of feedback.

Weston, 10 December 2021 - Currently, the offset printing market faces several challenges such as high competition and declining demand that are causing companies in the sector to look for new business opportunities in digital printing. In this context, Ricoh Latin America foresees an increase in investment in digital printing technology in the region as it gives organisations the opportunity to provide differential value to their customers by offering on-demand printing, while reducing inventory, as well as more possibilities for high-impact communication.
"With variable data printing, printers can now personalise jobs and provide different versions of the same job so that the customer can have a greater impact and increase their return on investment. For example, they can now offer packaging personalisation, use of recycled materials, implement smart packaging (QR codes and security features), among many other options," explains Norman Mayorga Product Manager Graphic Communications at Ricoh Latin America.

In order for printers to realise the full potential of digital printing, Ricoh Latin America has introduced its Pro C9200 and Pro C7200 medium and high-volume digital colour printers. Specifically, these devices now add eight paper feed and output options, as well as new EFI print servers. Additionally, its suite of solutions and services transform workflow by enabling businesses to digitally transform. Ricoh's solutions and software help drive business growth through automation, which eliminates human error and reduces operational costs.
In addition, Ricoh has the Pro C7200 press designed to enable organisations to increase their market presence with five colours to differentiate businesses and attract new customers. Companies in the graphics market can develop new applications with customised effects using neon yellow, neon pink, white, clear, silver gold and invisible red toners. In addition, the fifth station is easily interchangeable, expanding the creative options that can be offered to customers.

"Environmental opportunities also arise with digital. Being able to minimise waste compared to offset printing is another positive outcome of adding digital services at the printer. Also, with the provision of web to print services where jobs are typically customised or printed in small quantities, having the digital platform to provide such services opens up new revenue streams for printers," adds Norman Mayorga.
