Multi-task at maximum speed
Produce high-quality color output at up to 65 pages per minute (ppm) and scan two-sided originals at 240 images per minute (ipm) with the Single Pass Document Feeder (SPDF). Use the optional Small Paper Feeding Unit for postcards, checks and other smaller originals. Share digital files via multiple Scan-to capabilities. Choose optional paperless faxing to send and receive documents securely via email. Ensure every page of important documents is scanned with the optional Double Feed Detection Unit.

Personalize the way you work from the highly responsive 10.1" Smart Operation Panel (SOP)RICOH Intelligent Support* for How-to Videos or to share access to the SOP with remote Ricoh technicians for fast, thorough troubleshooting. A built-in motion sensor powers up the SOP upon your arrival. Use the SOP to access up to 3,000 frequently used documents stored on the Document Server. With optional optical character recognition (OCR), you can place metadata on documents, files and images and search via keywords. Use the embedded Web browser to search the web for information or access today's most popular cloud-based applications.

Produce impressive full-color brochures, proposals, presentations and more in-house for less — by taking advantage of multiple finishing options. The IM C6500 uses advanced technology to assure every page is bright, vivid and clear with 2,400 x 4,800 dpi resolution. Print on a wide range of media, including envelopes and thicker stocks. Choose from multiple automated finishing capabilities to simplify hole-punching, booklet-making, cover insertion, z-folding and more.
Multi-task on the move
Use the RICOH Smart Device Connector app, AirPrint® or MopriaTM to print directly from your iOS or Android smartphone or tablet. Grab files directly from the device or your favorite cloud applications and send them to the IM C6500 for printing. Don't worry about the MFP being out of paper — you can expand paper capacity up to 8,100 sheets. You can also share files with other Ricoh devices, including projectors and flat panel displays, for large group collaborations.
Make accountability an advantage
Restrict access to key MFP functions via passwords and user codes. Track user activity, specific projects and bottleneck delays. Pair the device with optional RICOH Streamline NX to issue chargebacks to users and workgroups. Use Locked Print to hold documents in queue until an authorized user releases them. The Ricoh-only operating system minimizes OS-specific threats while data encryption and latent data overwrite help protect information on the hard drive.
Put your energy to smart use
The IM C6500 is ENERGY STAR® certified and EPEAT® Gold Rated with a Typical Electricity Consumption (TEC) at 1.217 kWh/week. The device can be programmed to power off automatically during idle office hours. Default duplex printing reduces paper costs. To reduce color output, administrators can set quotas and restrict specific users to black-and-white printing only. An Eco-Friendly Indicator monitors paper usage and shares reminders with users about best print practices and behaviors.

Case Study: Grafinorte

Grafinorte, an important printing industry in the Southern Region of Brazil, entrusted Ricoh with the beginning of the modernization of its printing park, concentrated almost entirely on large analog offset machines, whose costs and production time are not suitable for short runs.
History and context
Created 33 years ago, Grafinorte belongs to the Tribuna Group, which also publishes the daily newspaper Tribuna do Norte. The newspaper and the printing company are based in Apucarana, in the north of the State of Paraná. The printing company occupies an area of more than 20,000 m² and provides services to companies throughout Brazil, in the publishing and advertising markets, with the production of catalogs, magazines, inserts, folders, envelopes, calendars, notebooks and brochures. Grafinorte employs 120 people and produces 500 titles per month, which add up to 8 million prints.Business challenge
Grafinorte faced problems such as not having large digital equipment that would allow faster and better costs in short-run printing, which is now highly demanded, especially in the promotional market. In addition, it faced a lack of specialized labor in the region where it operates.
The existence of almost exclusively analog equipment in the Grafinorte park was an ingredient that needed to be overcome to maintain its competitiveness in the market. In addition, the company had demands for print quality improvement and technological standardization.
Ricoh's work at Grafinorte to propose a project to modernize its printing plant lasted two months and began with an immersion in the company to understand its business. Difficulties were detected in internal processes and the existence of only one digital printer of an entry model was verified, insufficient to meet market demands.
A stage of solution mapping was then initiated, in RGC and color mapping, followed by quality tests and approval of substrates. The conclusion of the negotiations was to demonstrate the advantages of Ricoh solutions compared to other products available on the market.
Ricoh Solution
Grafinorte acquired, in addition to a Ricoh PRO C9500 large digital press, a finishing module with booklet, a print server (Fiery) and a Color Profile Suite equipment with ES-3000. Grafinorte also contracted Ricoh Services for pre and post-press process automation, color management and monitoring (Remote+ARMS), as well as a graphic arts package.Findings
In addition to opening Grafinorte's doors to new Ricoh solutions for the eventual continuity of the modernization of its printing park, the implemented project produced concrete results:
The following were achieved:
- Agility in the printing process, with a reduction in production time from two to one day.
- 50% reduction in labor used.
- Expansion of the variety of media that can be printed, adding to the two existing stickers, vinyl, cardboard in 350g/m² and newspaper in 45g/m².
- Time savings in bending, clamping and plate engraving processes.
- Overall, productivity gains of 40% were achieved

Droguería 20 de Junio is an Argentine company dedicated to the commercialization of pharmaceutical, medical and perfumery products. Its business model is based on efficient logistics to ensure the rapid reception, preparation and delivery of orders throughout the country.
In its quest to optimize its operational processes and improve the customer experience, Droguería 20 de Junio identified the need for a technological solution that would allow it to increase productivity, reduce downtime and improve efficiency in order preparation.
