History and Context

ConWaste is a Puerto Rican company and a leader in solid waste management and environmental services. Its mission is to deliver environmental services and fleet maintenance with a focus on quality, innovation, and advanced technology, in harmony with the environment.

Business Challenge

Ricoh began its relationship with ConWaste in 2023, strengthening the partnership throughout 2024 and 2025. Recently, the company faced multiple operational challenges, including late collections, a high volume of documents (+8,000), slow billing processes, and inefficient document management. These issues significantly impacted billing speed and extended collection cycles.

Ricoh Solution

Ricoh implemented an end-to-end Service Ticket Digitization solution. This included automated data extraction (invoice, date, route, weight, truck, driver), creation of billing tables, workflows, a digital repository, training, full system configuration, and project management. Internal communication screens were also deployed across the company’s seven locations, along with a supplier portal with more than 300 users.

Results

As a result of this project, ConWaste achieved:

• An 80% reduction in billing processing time (from 15 days to just 3).
• Faster digitization and data extraction.
• Accelerated billing cycles during the first week of each month and a significant reduction in collection times.
• Improved key performance indicators: productivity, operational speed, compliance, and ROI.
