COFARAL is an Argentine pharmaceutical cooperative founded in Tucumán in 1969 by and for pharmacists, with the goal of strengthening and supporting pharmacies in the region. Over more than five decades, the organization has evolved from a supply cooperative into a comprehensive pharmaceutical distributor and one of the leading pharmaceutical distribution companies in Northern Argentina.
This growth has been accompanied by a significant expansion of its infrastructure and operational capabilities. Today, COFARAL operates an extensive distribution network serving more than 1,300 pharmacies in Tucumán and other provinces, combining its cooperative tradition with a strong focus on innovation, technology, and process efficiency.
COFARAL's growth and the launch of a new facility in Salta brought new operational challenges. The company needed technology that would enable it to optimize critical processes such as the printing of invoices and delivery documents, inventory management, and stock control, while ensuring an agile and reliable operation.
In addition, COFARAL wanted to improve device management and gain greater visibility into equipment performance and usage, with a solution capable of supporting the future growth of its operations.
To address these needs, COFARAL implemented an integrated technology solution combining printing equipment, data capture devices, and a centralized management platform.
The implementation enabled COFARAL to centralize device management and manage its technology infrastructure more efficiently. Through a single platform, the team can monitor and manage its network of devices, gaining greater visibility into their usage.
In addition, the deployment of these devices provided the robustness and reliability needed to support the operational workload, helping prevent disruptions and delays in critical processes. The solution also prepared the infrastructure for future functionality and improvements in the collection and availability of information across inventory and distribution operations.
