Case Study: Grafica Maguncia

Prepared by Sol Rodriguez, Ricoh Argentina

History and context

Gráfica Maguncia was born in 1983 as a publishing house specialized in logistics and transport economics. Over the years, it evolved into a creative boutique and, in 1996, it became an integral printing company, editing, designing and printing its own products. Among its first milestones was the production of teacher training books for the National Ministry of Education.

Located in Balvanera, a strategic area with high educational density, Maguncia today offers printing solutions for institutes, universities, creative agencies, embassies and leading commercial brands. Over time and with the impulse of the production manager, Pilar Brandi, they have been able to adapt to technological changes to stay at the forefront of the industry, migrating from traditional offset to the digital world.

Business challenge

The relationship with Ricoh began in 2018, during the launch event of the Ricoh Pro C9200 industrial color printer. At the time, in an increasingly competitive environment, Mainz was facing the need to expand its production capacity, improve its lead times and diversify its offering with high-quality technology. They were also looking to partner with a reliable supplier, offering efficient after-sales support, availability of supplies and affordable spare parts.

Ricoh Solution

To accompany the growth of its operation and respond to the needs of its customers, Gráfica Maguncia progressively incorporated different high-volume printing solutions, consolidating a robust and versatile technological infrastructure.

They started with two Ricoh Pro C5100s production printers and then added a Ricoh Pro 8200, a Ricoh Pro 8220, a Ricoh Pro L5160e plotter and finally the Ricoh Pro C5300s, which completed their machine fleet.

"We decided to continue with the 5000 line because it is very versatile and of unquestionable print quality. Being able to work with paper from 60 to 360 grams and synthetic substrates makes it an agile tool for both short and medium runs. It is an economical, reliable and high-performance machine," says Luis Brandi, owner of the printing company.

Results

Thanks to Ricoh solutions, Gráfica Maguncia achieved:

  • Significantly raise the quality of its products
  • Reduce operating times
  • Expand your service offering
  • Optimize your workflow
  • Consolidate as a reliable supplier for demanding customers

Luis Brandi highlights: "Having solid equipment, available spare parts, affordable supplies and an after-sales service that is attentive to the customer's needs are what anyone involved in production values highly."

In addition, Luis told Ricoh that they have their sights set on continuing to innovate: "Mainz plans to incorporate 5th color production equipment, such as the Ricoh Pro C7500, to further expand its offerings to advertising agencies and creative bureaus".

This is another example of how Ricoh LATAM drives digital transformation in the graphic arts sector, accompanying its customers at every stage of growth. Gráfica Maguncia and Ricoh co-create innovative experiences in the workspace, increasing productivity, quality and responsiveness to an increasingly demanding market.
